Luke Dyra is an Los Angeles based Cinematographer and Steadicam Operator. He studied cinematography at Columbia College Chicago where he graduated with a BA in Cinema Arts and Science. While attending Columbia, Luke shot Akanksha Cruczynski’s graduate thesis film, Close Ties to Home Country, which went on to win a 2021 Student Academy Award, as well as a number of other honors. His first feature, Ghostlight, directed by Kelly O’Sullivan and Alex Thompson, premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. His second feature, Nickels, directed by Spencer King is set for a wide theatrical release in 2025.
His background in the dramatic arts have lent him a unique perspective when it comes to creating dynamic camera work, both as a camera operator and as a cinematographer. Luke is an active member of IATSE Local 600 (ICG) and the Steadicam Operators Association (SOA) as well as an associate member of the Society of Camera Operators (SOC).
